Hi friends!
I am exceedingly pleased (and tired and a touch nervous) to share with you the cover (^) and pre-order page (—>) for Pivot, the second book in my Love Where You Work series, of which the eponymous title was the first.
I’ve been quietly working on Pivot for months now. I actually wrote the epilogue first and I won’t spoil it for you, but it’s my favorite part of the story.
This book details the mistakes and triumphs of Paula Suarez, a hard-of-hearing, Latinx cosplayer who wants to be a costume designer. Her love interest is Nita Funmaker, a mixed-race (white/Native) journo who’s embroiled in a bitter divorce and has long since given up on her dreams.
As with my other rom-com, Pivot is about how one of the biggest obstacles in love is usually … ourselves. And how we learn to get out of our own ways.
I’ll be writing more about the book and the motivations behind it and the interesting challenges of writing a hard-of-hearing character (even though I am deaf!) in the coming weeks…
