Hi friends,
A few updates. And a sex scene.
One, it’s Lesbian Visibility Week and I Heart Sapphfic is doing a big sale April 24-28, with 200+ books around $1, including one of mine, Pivot, which is $.99 for the next few days (or free if you have Kindle Unlimited).
Also on tap, this small-ish selection of free sapphic books, available for a limited time.
And here’s a sex scene (first draft!) from my current work in progress. I’m calling it MomCom, even though that title is already taken (WAAH!). It’s about two straight women, Deb and Rory, who get married for reasons both complicated (despair, toxic masculinity, art) and banal (health insurance).
And then they accidentally fall in love.
Audio is at the bottom, if you prefer to listen instead of read. (Excuse the first 3 seconds. Apparently leaning forward sounds like I’m crumpling up paper.)
Rory kisses her, slowly this time, lips pillowing, tongue sweetly probing—and the rest of Deb’s thoughts scatter like dandelion fluff.
She meets her body as if for the first time. The conflicting feelings of perfect clarity and mind-numbing disorientation seek to unravel her. But she doesn’t unravel. She doesn’t even feel hesitant or nervous. A familiarity overtakes her, a raw urgency that others might call instinct. Being here with Rory is somehow the most truthful thing she’s ever done. She feels both less and more than she was before. She feels free.
Deb’s fingers worry the clasp of Rory’s bra as they kiss. When Rory’s warm exhale skirts against her open mouth, she loses her composure—it takes some moments to remember what she’s doing, and once she does, Rory flings the bra up and over her head—clasp be damned. This drives Deb, somehow, even wilder with desire. She skates a thumb over Rory’s bare nipple, watching it harden. This causes Rory to inhale sharply, so Deb does it again on the other side. As her pinches become less tentative, twisting and working each tightening bud, Rory’s body is reduced to a shaking, writhing thing. Deb is so turned on by this she fears she might hyperventilate. A shiver arcs down her spine as Rory groans, kissing her deeper and more frantically.
